Seeing double? No, Cursed Arrows haven’t become a three-piece, it’s just Jackie’s reflection in the Rancho Relaxo washroom where we filmed our latest minilogues! Most people know that Cursed Arrows are one of my favorite bands, so I was super excited to do this one. Rain ruined our plans to shoot the video outside in a park, but as it turns out Jackie and Ryan had the Rancho washroom in mind all along! They played a new and unreleased song for us, so please check it out! Cursed Arrows are heading out on tour to support their second album, and will be in Toronto on May 27th, at the Silver Dollar for the Pitter Patter Festival.

The Cheap Speakers have been quietly rocking Toronto for a couple years now, so it’s only right that their time in the spotlight is now coming up. They’ll be releasing their new EP next week, at the Garrison. You can get a preview here by watching them perform “Tongue” outside the Broadview Cafe on a windy afternoon.
Dan Mangan played two shows in Toronto for CMW and attended others. Then he was going to fly down to Austin to play some ungodly number of SXSW shows there. And he’s been pretty busy lately in general, you know? But because he is a peach, he took a bit of time out to play a couple of songs by the waterfront for minilogues. Have a listen, won’t you?
Poor Dan Mangan. After a busy weekend in Toronto with CMW, and the day before his very early flight to Austin for SXSW, we got him to hike down to Queen’s Quay and Spadina in order to film an episode of minilogues. He was a champ though, and we’re pretty excited about the video. You’ll see that on Sunday — for now, here are some photos!
We caught up with Wordburglar last weekend and found him surrounded by… words of course. At Eliot’s book store on Yonge, we set up shop on the top floor and filmed a quick minilogues for you all. Check it out, and make sure to come on down to Rancho Relaxo tonight for the all-canadian hip-hop night featuring the Wordburg himself, along with The Leathers and more!!

Dan squashed into the passenger seat (on the driver’s side, actually) with the video camera, I squashed into the driver’s seat with my DSLR, and Make Your Exit and their instruments squashed into the back of their Mitsubishi van. This is the video that resulted. We’re pretty happy with it.
We squashed into a Mitsubishi van with the steering wheel on the European side to film Make Your Exit performing. It wasn’t comfortable, but it was fun, and we’re pretty happy with how the video came out. You can see that on Wednesday; in the meantime, here are some pictures.
